On June 27, China's Minister of Justice He Rong attended an open meeting of justice ministers of the 12th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum via video link upon invitation and delivered a speech.
He Rong outlined the historic achievements China has made in promoting the rule of law under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and shared the country's outcomes and practices in promoting the development of judicial administration through the application of digital technology.
The minister noted that China has strengthened top-level design and promoted high-quality development of judicial administration by formulating plans for its digitalization.
She highlighted the efforts China has made to strengthen system construction by establishing and improving information systems covering administrative legislation, law-based administration, penalty execution, public legal services, and foreign-related rule of law, which provide technical support for various judicial administrative functions.
Additionally, China has strengthened system application by establishing the 12348 online legal service platform, which offers online legal services covering lawyers, legal aid, notarization, and judicial appraisal, thus providing targeted and efficient legal services to the public, the minister added.
During the forum, a series of activities, including themed exhibitions on BRICS countries' practices in promoting the rule of law, ethnic cultural exhibitions and performances, and legal education sub-forums, were held.
Representatives from China's Ministry of Justice, the provincial justice departments of Shaanxi and Gansu, and some of China's universities also participated in relevant activities.
