The opening ceremony of the fourth training session for foreign-related legal talents in the judicial administrative system nationwide was held in Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) on May 27. Vice-Minister of Justice Wang Zhenjiang attended and addressed the ceremony.

Wang pointed out that the training session is a concrete measure taken by the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) in thoroughly implementing the guiding principles of the remarks by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, at the group study session of the Political Bureau of the 20th CPC Central Committee.

The MOJ has attached great importance to the development of foreign-related rule of law, and has intensified efforts to cultivate high-quality and versatile foreign-related legal talents, which aims to foster solid talent support for the country to achieve high-level opening-up and deep participation in global governance, he noted.

He stressed that the training session must adhere to the correct political direction, striving to forge a team of competent foreign-related legal professionals with firm political stances, good command of international rules and exceptional proficiency in foreign legal practices.

Jia Wenjian, president of BFSU, said that BFSU has placed great emphasis on the foreign-related legal talent training program proposed by the MOJ. The university will facilitate the participants' improvement in foreign language skills, global vision, political awareness and professional levels through scientific training curriculum and high-caliber teaching resources, he added.

Prior to the ceremony, Wang and Jia exchanged views on deepening cooperation between the MOJ and BFSU on further strengthening the cultivation of foreign-related legal talents.
