The Ministry of Justice will further diversify forms of legislation, including prioritizing urgent needs and taking a targeted approach characterized by precision, efficiency and flexibility, for its legislative work in 2024, according to the 2023 national conference of directors of justice departments held on Jan 14.
These initiatives aim to explore and establish a system of rapid response to enhance the quality and efficiency of legislation.
In 2024, the ministry will continue to strengthen the supply of laws and regulations in key and emerging fields. Underlying priorities and urgent needs, efforts will be accelerated to make and revise laws and regulations that are of high concern to the CPC Central Committee, urgently needed for national governance, keenly anticipated by the public, and crucial for maintaining national security.
The ministry will expedite the implementation of key legislative projects and comprehensively strengthen the construction of financial legal systems, so as to fully realize the principle that "the rule of law is the best environment for doing business.”
It will continue to make more efforts in the composition, revision, abolition and interpretation of laws and regulations as well as in cleaning up legal and regulatory frameworks in an orderly manner. It will attach more importance to improving the legislative pattern by adopting a targeted approach characterized by precision, efficiency and flexibility and explore the establishment of a rapid legislative response mechanism.
Additionally, the ministry will promote the legislation and revision of laws pertaining to prisons, lawyers, arbitration, notarization, forensic identification and publicity about the rule of law.
