Minister of justice conducts survey in Macao

Minister of Justice He Rong led a delegation to conduct a survey in Macao on guaranteeing the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) with legal services from July 19 to 21. 

The visit was a substantive move to support Macao's judicial and legal circles in integrating into the country's overall development in a bid to provide high-quality legal services and guarantees for GBA construction, as well as the steady and sustained development of the cause of the "one country, two systems".

He Rong met with Ho Iat Seng, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR), Cheong Weng Chon, secretary for the administration and justice of the MSAR, Kou Hoi In, president of the MSAR Legislative Assembly, and Sam Hou Fai, president of the Court of Final Appeal of the MSAR, respectively. The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and the Macao Administration and Justice Department signed minutes of meetings on further deepening exchanges and cooperation in talent nurturing and legal services. 

The minister also exchanged views with and heard suggestions from representatives of the Macao Lawyers Association and the Macao association of legal professionals. She also visited China Legal Services (Macao) Ltd.

Ho and representatives of Macao's judicial and legal circles expressed their appreciation to the MOJ for its concrete measures to support the Macao legal profession in integrating into the country's overall development.

They also said they hope to further enhance exchanges and cooperation with the MOJ and contribute to the development of the country by fully leveraging the advantage of the Macao legal profession in the Portuguese language.
