Minister of justice conducts survey in Hong Kong

Minister of Justice He Rong led a delegation to conduct a survey in Hong Kong on guaranteeing the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) with legal services from July 16 to 19.

The visit was a substantive move to support Hong Kong's judicial and legal circles in integrating into the country's overall development in a bid to provide high-quality legal services and guarantees for GBA construction as well as the steady and sustained development of the cause of "one country, two systems".

He Rong held talks with Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) John Lee Ka-chiu, HKSAR Secretary for Justice Paul Lam Ting-kwok,and Chief Justice of the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal Andrew Cheung Kui-nung, respectively. The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and the Hong Kong Department of Justice signed minutes of meetings on further deepening cooperation in talent nurturing and legal services.

During their stay in Hong Kong, the delegation also visited the SAR's government departments such as the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau, the Security Bureau, and the Correctional Services Department, as well as China Legal Service (HK) Ltd.

Lee and representatives of the judicial and legal circles in Hong Kong expressed their gratitude to the MOJ for its concrete efforts in supporting the SAR's legal profession integrating into the country's overall development. 

They also said they hope to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the ministry and contribute to the development of the country by fully leveraging Hong Kong's distinctive advantages of close connections with the world.
