Ningxia public office lawyers contribute to building of law-based governments

In recent years, Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region has taken measures to strengthen the public office lawyer system, including improving the supervision and assessment mechanisms and establishing a cross-departmental lawyer coordination system.

These efforts aim to leverage the role of public office lawyers in promoting the building of law-based governments and driving economic and social development in the region.

Since 2022, public office lawyers in the region have handled a total of 7,489 cases of legal affairs.

Among these cases, public office lawyers have provided 940 legal opinions on major decisions and administrative actions. They have also assisted in the drafting and arguing of 387 laws, regulations and normative documents and engaged in 1,429 cases related to the review of administrative penalties and administrative reconsiderations. In addition, 4,733 important legal matters have been successfully handled. 

The Human Resources and Social Security Department of the region has 16 public office lawyers. Since 2020, the department has mobilized these lawyers to review 666 normative documents, where 16 documents were declared invalid and 87 abolished.

In the meantime, the public office lawyers have actively supported the region's arbitration cases. Since 2020, the clearance rate of labor and personnel disputes has stayed above 90 percent. Some 54 administrative litigation cases have been handled, with a success rate of nearly 100 percent.

Furthermore, a set of measures have been introduced to coordinately promote the full coverage of public office lawyer services in the region.
