MOJ deletes 116 certificate documents to enhance convenience of notarial services

The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) has removed 116 kinds of certificate documents required for notarial services regarding such matters as evidence preservation, qualifications, academic degrees, certificates and licenses, and on-site supervision, as well as contracts and agreements.

The requirement reduction was made on the basis of the list of notarial certificate materials issued by local governments to provide more convenient notarial services for the public.

The MOJ introduces this measure as part of its efforts to further enhance people-centered notarial services by enhancing guidance for local notarial matters and comprehensively promoting the list management system for required submission of notarial certificate materials.

Relevant measures have been taken to standardize and reduce notarial certification materials and resolutely eliminate repeated and unnecessary certificates. Meanwhile, the scope of "at-most-one-visit" services for relevant notarial matters has been expanded.

Local governments have introduced measures to expand the scope of their "at-most-one-visit" services for notarial matters with a focus on such important fields as guaranteeing and improving people's livelihoods, optimizing the business environment and protecting intellectual property rights. Cities like Beijing have even increased the number of items covered by "at-most-one-visit" notarial services to over 100.
