Qinghai recently issued a notice on including legal aid in the province's people-centered projects in 2023.

The province will provide necessary and standard legal aid services to people facing financial difficulties and other legally eligible parties, aiming to handle 7,000 legal aid cases throughout the year, according to the notice.

So far, Qinghai has established 54 legal aid institutions, 1,087 stations and 4,329 outreach offices.

Over the past five years, legal aid institutions at all levels in the province have handled 43,563 legal aid cases and provided nearly 330,000 legal consultations. They have also assisted over 45,000 people, recovering economic losses of nearly 1.5 billion yuan (about $0.22 billion).

With constant improvement to its service capacity, the province has seen more legal aid cases handled online or through mobile phone apps.

Significant progress has been made in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of people with difficulties, safeguarding social equity and justice, as well as promoting social harmony and stability.
