HIAC plays active role in 3rd China Int'l Consumer Products Expo

The Hainan International Arbitration Court (HIAC) provided comprehensive legal services for the third China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE), which was held from April 11 to 15 in Haikou, South China's Hainan province.

Based on the experience of the previous expos, the HIAC formed a service team consisting of more than a hundred personnel specialized in arbitration and mediation at this year's expo. 

The team provided such comprehensive services as arbitration, mediation and consultation for various disputes arising from the expo, demonstrating the court's achievements amid its efforts to serve the Hainan Free Trade Port in creating a law-based, international and convenient business environment since its reform three years ago.

It's worth to note that the court set up a professional booth at the expo for the first time, establishing a dispute resolution center featuring "arbitration plus mediation". A consultation desk was also set up in the registration hall to provide such services as consultations, guidance and legal advice for exhibitors, purchasers and visitors.

Meanwhile, the court established a working group to learn the practical needs of exhibitors and buyers in commercial dispute resolution, and guided commercial entities in learning about the unique advantages of the arbitration and mediation systems and the integrated operation of the two systems.

Furthermore, the court has upgraded the 24/7 "arbitration plus mediation" service column of its official website. Online arbitration tribunal and mediation rooms were launched to offer online services, including consultations, filings and quick mediation and trials.
