Chongqing central legal service district starts construction

Recently, a ceremony marking the official launch of the construction of the Chongqing central legal service district was held in Yuzhong district, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.

The central legal service district is expected to provide efficient legal guarantees for Chongqing in its efforts to promote the development of China's western regions in the new era, including the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic zone, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and the Belt and Road.

It will drive the high-quality development of China's west regions and the rest of the country by leading the integrated development of high-end professional service industries, promoting the supply-side structural reform of the legal service sector and improving the functional quality and service level of central city.

Relying on the Jiefangbei Central Business District and the Hualongqiao International Business District, the central legal service district will be built into a comprehensive and multi-tiered legal service area to attract high-quality legal service institutions by building a group of buildings with characteristic legal services.  

A digital inauguration ceremony was also held to celebrate the establishment of such institutions as the Singapore International Arbitration Centre Chongqing committee, a financial immediate arbitration and mediation center of the Chongqing Arbitration Commission, the Chongqing research base for smart legal services, and the Chongqing people's mediation committee for financial disputes in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic zone.

Yuzhong district has the most abundant legal resources and most concentrated economic factors in Chongqing. It is home to146 legal service institutions and more than 8,000 institutions related to legal businesses, such as accounting, auditing and consulting, with a comprehensive industrial chain, according to head of the Yuzhong district.
