Tianjin intensifies efforts to provide high-quality legal services targeted at enterprises

In 2022, the justice department of Tianjin municipality introduced ten measures in a special campaign to create a sound business environment for high-quality development of enterprises.

A total of 355 law firms provided over 9,300 legal services for nearly 5,500 enterprises in the city, assisting them in dealing with 7,350 cases concerning civil and commercial disputes and recovering losses of about 1.37 billion yuan (about $200 million).

The city's justice department has taken measures to enhance its team building and to improve legal services. More than 200 public-interest legal service teams have been established to offer legal services to enterprises based on different professions, regions and industries.

The justice department has improved the working mechanism of the city's legal service centers for entrepreneurs, providing "one stop" public legal services for enterprises that range from legal publicity, problem handling and decision-making advice. The department has also compiled guidelines on legal compliance targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in an effort to further resolve difficult cases faced by the enterprises.

In addition, the justice department has, together with the Tianjin lawyers association and Tianjin University, established a foreign-related lawyers college. 

The college is gradually improving itself in such fields as student selection, teacher allocation, curriculum design, and teaching plans. This will facilitate the city's drive to cultivate foreign-related lawyers, better serve the Belt and Road development and local enterprises' going global initiative, and provide a fundamental guarantee for the building of a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment.
