Number of practicing lawyers hit 20,000 in Shenzhen

The number of practicing lawyers has exceeded 20,000 in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province.

To date, Shenzhen boasts 1,135 law firms and 20,803 practicing lawyers across the city. Shenzhen's lawyers have been actively engaged in promoting the city's law-based governance, have provided legal counseling services for over 2,000 government departments annually, and participated in every aspects of the government departments’ major administrative decisions and actions. Their involvement has strongly enhanced law-based decision-making of the government departments in a scientific way.

Furthermore, lawyers in the city continuously extended their services to the grassroots level to safeguard people's livelihoods, which has greatly enhanced the people's sense of gain in the rule of law.
