Vice-minister of justice visits legal service exhibition at 2022 CIFTIS

Xiong Xuanguo, vice-minister of justice, paid a visit to the legal service exhibition at Shougang Park in Beijing, on Sept 1. 

Xiong visited 43 legal service institutions at the exhibition, part of the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), where he learned of the information about the participating institutions' staff and business, and communicated with representatives of these institutions.

Xiong stressed that the legal service institutions should actively make use of the exhibition and strengthen communication and exchanges with other exhibitors, fully present a positive image and the professional capacity of China's law firms, arbitration and notarial institutions, so as to further improve the international influences and competitiveness of the country's foreign-related legal services.

The legal service exhibition held at the 2022 CIFTIS was part of the Ministry of Justice's major endeavors to implement Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law and the spirit of the central conference on work related to overall law-based governance, further promote China's foreign-related legal services, and accelerate the pace to foster a group of international first-class foreign-related legal service institutions. It is of great importance to better serve the country's strategic layout of foreign-related work on the rule of law as well as all-round opening-up.

A total of 43 institutions participated in this year's themed exhibition, including 33 law firms with outstanding performance in foreign-related legal service, seven arbitration institutions that are domestically leading in terms of foreign-related arbitration cases and the amount of the subject matter, and three foreign-related notary public offices with strong brand influences.

The visit was accompanied by officials from the ministry's Bureau of Public Legal Services Administration, Bureau of Lawyers' Work, Law Promotion Center, as well as the All China Lawyers Association and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice.
