Henan integrates legal service resources to ensure food security

Central China's Henan province, one of the country's major breadbasket, has stepped up measures to ensure good harvest.

It's now a public-interest project of Henan's judicial administrative departments to enhance the public's awareness of food security and guarantee a bountiful harvest by resolving disputes over food in a timely manner and strengthening the publicity on the rule of law.

Focusing on the major theme of ensuring food security, the province's judicial administrative system has effectively integrated such legal service resources as grassroots judicial offices, people's mediation, legal advisors at villages or communities and community corrections to carry out law popularization and publicity, so as to further improve the dispute resolution mechanism related to agriculture and grain, said Zhao Huisheng, Party secretary and director of Henan's judicial department, adding that farmer's legitimate rights and interests and food security were guaranteed through the rule of law.

The judicial bureau of Luohe city, an important part of the country's grain production core area, has helped relieve the enterprises' difficulties by providing legal services such as legal advice, contract review and law-based examination, covering 20 projects concerning food processing, food equipment manufacturing, and storage and logistics.
