The second nationwide campaign to promote the Civil Code among the public started on May 1.

The month-long campaign, jointly organized by the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, focuses on publicity of the Civil Code in the rural areas, aiming to create an environment for the rule of law in which all of the people act in accordance with the law, look to the law when running into problems, and rely on the law to resolve problems and conflicts.

Based on local conditions, a wide variety of publicity activities themed on the Civil Code have been carried out across China.

Measures such as training of legally savvy talents in the rural areas, organizing grassroots law-based governance activities and intensifying themed publicity of the Civil Code at villages and communities were carried out, in a bid to consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation through high-quality law publicity.

During the campaign, various promotion channels and innovative methods were used to improve the effect.

For example, the justice and law publicity organs in Guangdong's Chaozhou city have set up rule of law-themed bookshelves at local tourist attractions. To date, more than 300 copies of the Constitution and the Civil Code, and over 1,200 publicity materials were put in these bookshelves for visitors to read for free.

Using channels both online and offline and integrating law publicity with local special culture resources were also highlighted at the national campaign.
