Jiangxi builds a smart correction room with VR immersive technology

A VR immersive education and experience room for community correction has been put into use in Yichun in East China's Jiangxi province.

The smart correction room, a complex of intelligent correction education and teaching plans, provides the offenders subject to community corrections an interactive experience of high-performance stimulation criminal scene as well as its consequences.

Set up in a community correction center in the city's Yuanzhou district, the correction room reaches nearly 700 offenders subject to community corrections in the district's 20 towns and eight sub-districts.

"In contrast to the boring lectures, VR immersive education can better stimulate the interest and participation of offenders subject to community corrections," said an official from the city's justice bureau.

To date, the room has held 28 centralized teaching activities, with participation of all the correction objects in Yuanzhou district.
