East China's Jiangsu province plans to establish 500 government-run legal aid stations and cultivate 74,000 legally savvy talents in 2022 in a bid to further improve its legal aid services, according to the province's justice department.

The legal aid stations will be set up in public security organs, procuratorial organs and people's courts, mass organizations, universities, law firms and key departments concerning people's livelihood. Villages and communities with a relatively large amount of people in need will be also equipped with legal aid stations this year.

The legal aid stations will provide legal services such as legal consultation, legal document drafting and accepting of legal aid applications. Legal aid publicity is also part of their responsibilities.

Meanwhile, legal aid contact points will be built to collect people's suggestions and handle legal aid applications.

In addition, more efforts will be made to promote legal service resources accessible at grassroots level. Jiangsu will guide large-scale law firms and arbitration institutions set up branches and offices at county level.

Furthermore, the province will take more well-considered steps to promote smart legal services by increasing the number of intelligent terminals that offer public legal services.
