Anhui unveils eighth five-year plan for raising public legal awareness

East China's Anhui province has announced its eighth five-year plan (2021-25) for carrying out publicity and education to raise public awareness of the law. 

According to the plan, citizens' legal literacy and law-based social governance in the province are both expected to improve significantly by 2025, with a more effective legal publicity system well in place. 

The plan emphasized the importance of providing citizens with life-long legal education, enhancing their legal awareness in day-to-day lives, and conducting legal publicity during legislation, law enforcement and the judicial process. 

Innovative measures, such as building a province-wide smart legal publicity platform, are also outlined in the plan.
