Sichuan focuses on reinforcing judicial stations

The judicial department of Southwest China's Sichuan province has devoted substantial efforts to reinforcing its judicial stations, which have adopted the "Fengqiao Experience" as their work style in recent years.

The Fengqiao Experience emphasizes solving problems in situ rather than passing them up to higher authorities. The practice has developed over the intervening decades, and is now a model for promoting community-level governance and social harmony.

To address understaffing issues that have plagued many judicial stations in the province, the department has mobilized students at local judicial police vocational colleges to work at short-staffed stations as interns. As a result, the stations have seen their total number of workers rise from 9,175 to 9,980.
