26 provinces apply smart mobile mediation system

A total of 26 Chinese provinces have applied a new smart mobile mediation system, which has gathered over 14 million information entries about people's mediation-related cases, according to the Ministry of Justice on Dec 1.

Based on technical specifications on the management of information systems for judicial stations and people's mediation that were released in 2017, the ministry developed an information management platform for primary-level judicial administration.

Since its launch in 2018, the platform has been connected to 30 provincial-level platforms. Currently, China has 708,000 people's mediation committees, 3.209 million people's mediators and 39,000 judicial stations.

As an important supplement to the platform, the ministry started to promote the use of the smart mobile mediation system by local authorities in 2018.
