Ministry of Justice issues guiding cases on drug rehabilitation

(en.moj.gov.cn)| Updated: 2021-07-19

The Ministry of Justice has released five guiding cases on drug rehabilitation, with the purpose of sharing successful and replicable experiences with judicial administrative authorities across the country.

The cases cover five aspects of drug rehabilitation work, including education-based correction, rehabilitation through medical treatment, rehabilitation training, anti-drug education and rehabilitation through comprehensive education. They show the desirable outcomes of different drug rehabilitation methods applied to different people in different situations, fully reflecting the scientific progress China has achieved in the field.

China's judicial administration has, so far, established a unified drug rehabilitation model featuring specialized drug rehabilitation centers, science-based methods and follow-up support. With this model, China has seen a sustained rise in the rehabilitation rate and a continuous fall in the rate of relapsing.

All the cases can be found in the case database of China's official legal service website – 12348.gov.cn.
