BEIJING -- An article by Chinese President Xi Jinping on promoting socialist rule of law with Chinese characteristics will be published Monday.
The article by Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, will be published in this year's fifth issue of the Qiushi Journal, a flagship magazine of the CPC Central Committee.
The article calls for sticking to the path of socialist rule of law with Chinese characteristics, and promoting the modernization of China's governance system and capacity in line with the rule of law, to provide strong legal guarantees for building a modern socialist country and realizing the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.
Noting that remarkable progress has been made in promoting law-based governance since the 18th National Congress of the CPC in 2012, the article sets forth 11 requirements for current and future work in that cause, including upholding Party leadership on law-based governance and upholding a people-centered approach.
Law-based governance shall be promoted under the guidance of scientific theories, with the Party's ideological and theoretical achievements on strengthening the rule of law in the new era well summarized and applied, the article stresses.
