MOJ’s Party chief stresses quality of judicial administration in Beijing

Yuan Shuhong, secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of the Ministry of Justice and vice-minister of justice, made an inspection tour of the judicial administrative system in Beijing on Jan 15, urging more improvements to the local authority's work in a bid to raise people's sense of gain, happiness and safety with respect to the rule of law.

Yuan examined the work in such areas as public legal services, community correction, legal aid for migrant workers and drug rehabilitation in several dedicated facilities.

Pointing out people's new and growing demand for democracy, rule of law, impartiality, justice, safety and good environment, Yuan called for accelerating the building of a precise, inclusive and convenient public legal service system, beefing up legal aid work, effectively protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the public, especially migrant workers and other groups in need, and actively implementing the work of law popularization, dispute mediation and grassroots law-based governance.

He also called on the authority to improve the local prison system, community correction system and drug rehabilitation work.
