A total of 100 students from abroad recently enjoyed experiencing the delights of Lunshunkou's varied culture, according to local officials.

They said the international students -- currently at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, Liaoning Normal University, Dalian Polytechnic University and Dalian Jiaotong University -- participated in activities in and around Lushunkou in Dalian, in northeastern Liaoning province, on Oct 18-19.

The visit was sponsored by the China Scholarship Council and arranged by Dongbei University of Finance and Economics and the Publicity Department of the CPC Dalian Municipal Committee.

Officials said the event was a part of "Experiencing China" activities, which aims to show the culture, developing industrial enterprises and beautiful natural scenery of Lushunkou to international students.

During the visit, the students climbed Baiyu Mountain, taking some magnificent panoramas of Lushunkou. The listened to briefings about the local history and also visited the Lushun Museum to learn more.

The students also visited the factories of CRRC -- China's top train maker – as well as Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co Ltd. There, they got an idea of achievements made by by the country in manufacturing in the 70 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China.

In addition, they also watched traditional local dances, Peking Opera and listened to folk music instrumental performances and experienced the rich and colorful cultural life of the locals.

According to local officials, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics and the Publicity Department of the CPC Dalian Municipal Committee have successfully run the "Experiencing China -- Dalian tour" for four consecutive years.

About 400 China Scholarship Council international students from more than 40 countries and regions have visited and studied in Dalian's Jinpu New Area, Wafangdian and in Zhuanghe.
