According to local media reports, an exhibition on the development and evolution of the Chinese traditional cheongsam women's dress opened at Taiyang Valley in Lushunkou, Dalian, in northeastern Liaoning province on Sept 25.

The cheongsam is known as the essence of Chinese traditional clothing culture.

As an important part of Lushunkou's 5th Colorful Leaves Festival, the exhibition displays photographs of cheongsams in different historical periods.

The organizers said it also comprehensively demonstrates the development and evolution of cheongsams.

They said that to date, the exhibition has attracted tens of thousands of Chinese and foreign tourists to visit.
