Lushun train station recognized as a railway treasure

Recently, Lushun train station in Lushunkou in Dalian in Northeast China's Liaoning province, was included on a list of the country's 12 special railway stations released by the People's Daily newspaper, according to local media reports.

Lushun railway station is a unique Russian architectural style wood structure, which has been praised as "the railway station with the most intense literary and artistic atmosphere" by many netizens.

It is located at Jinggang Road in Lushunkou and the end of the railway directly extends to Lushun military port.

China's first international train departed from Lushun railway station.

In April 2014, the train from Dalian to Lushun was shut down and the railway station, which has been operating for more than 100 years, formally ceased operating.

Architecture and history are inseparable from its story, according to fans. They say the venerable old building station has witnessed many stories and major events in this important military town over the past century.

Nowadays, travelers can still take a bus to visit this small station, now without its trains.
