Lushunkou welcomes 267,200 tourists during 7-day holiday

According to the local authorities, Lushunkou in Dalian had something of a tourist boom -- playing host to 267,200 domestic and international tourists -- during the recent seven-day National Day's holiday on Oct 1-7.
Moreover, the number of visitors received by the main scenic spots in the district, located in northeastern Liaoning province, increased by 2 percent year-on-year.
Total tourism income during the period hit 3.62 million yuan ($512,805), an increase of 51.7 percent year-on-year.
During the seven-day holiday, Lushunkou staged a slew of events which brought in large numbers of tourists.
Among them was the 5th Colored Leaf Festival, calligraphy and painting exhibitions commemorating the 120th anniversary of the discovery of the oracle bone inscriptions and a happiness life festival.
The main scenic spots also launched a patriotic songs show, a patriotic film exhibition, an intangible cultural heritage performance and other events.
