The opening ceremony for the 5th Colorful Leaves Festival was held in Taiyang valley in Lushunkou, Dalian in northeastern China's Liaoning province on Sept 21.

According to local media reports, during the festival – which runs from Sept 21 to Oct 31 -- Lushunkou Taiyang valley cultural industry park will hold a series of events such as a happy life festival, a watercolor sketch exhibition and a dating activity.

The organizers said the festival was expected to further expand the influence of the cultural tourism in the region.

They said it would further enhance the industry park's innovation ability and competitiveness and build it up as a cultural industry demonstration zone in Dalian and a cultural industry in northeastern China.
