Construction on a Naval Warfare Park was recently completed in Breeze Town, Lushunkou, in Dalian, a city of North China's Liaoning province.
The park covers an area of 2,800 square meters. Its exhibition hall is a restored Chinese cruiser named Chih Yuen. Nearly 500 exhibits related to naval warfare are on display at the museum, covering historical events such as the Westernization Movement, the Sino-Japanese War, the Siege of the International Legations, the Russo-Japanese War, the War of Resistance Against Japan and the development of the People's Liberation Army and the People's Liberation Navy.
The aim of the new park is to promote international peace and understanding, while highlighting the horrors of conflict.
