Updated: 2018-11-19
Since the start of the year, the city of Lushunkou, in Dalian, Liaoning province, has been working to improve the local environment, with special efforts made to clean up rivers, conserve water and develop green economic zones.
In pursuit of these goals, the local government and Lushun Water Group have formed a partnership to target better water management and an improved environment.
So far this year, 45 kilometers of river have been cleaned, seven water conservation facilities have undergone maintenance work, and 238 reservoirs in rural areas currently store 11.6 million cubic meters of water –– 77 percent of the area’s total storage capacity.
And as part of efforts to create a greener local environment, Longhe Park and Longyinquan Park have reopened to the public following improvement works.
