A new plan to help tackle a shortage of teachers and funds in rural areas has been launched in Lushunkou, Dalian, North China’s Liaoning province, with a launch ceremony held at a local primary school, on Nov 13.

The "Dream Plan" aims to connect volunteer services with rural schools, improve teacher training and integrate resources to improve the quality of local education.

Li Pengyu, member of Standing Committee of Dalian Municipal Committee and minister of the Publicity Department of Dalian Municipal Committee, responsible personnel of relevant units, volunteer representatives and principals, teachers and students of rural schools, etc., attended the ceremony.

During the event, attendees viewed artwork created by schoolchildren, and Dalian Art College donated musical instruments and stationery to local rural schools. School equipment was also donated by various local charitable organizations.
