Three main industries see growth in Lushunkou in Jan-Oct

With the aim to accelerate the development of modern urban agriculture, Lushunkou further adjusted the industrial structure of the economy so the development of agriculture can keep pace with the other two industries. 

Lushunkou focused on developing the following five sectors in agriculture: vegetables, fruits, flowers, animal husbandry and fishery. Up to now, the grain, vegetables and fruits are grown on an area totaling 6,200 hectares, with over 7.8 million livestock and poultry raised, and with aquaculture area of 2,800 hectares. Meanwhile, 68,000 tons of grain, fruits and vegetables were produced, 31,000 tons of meat, eggs and milk, and 181,000 tons of seafood, achieving a total agricultural output of 2.988 billion yuan ($431.87 million) with the added value rising to 1.622 billion yuan, up 4.3 percent year-on-year. 

The region also implemented on-location processing of agricultural products to strengthen the secondary industry. So far, 176,000 tons of agricultural products have undergone further processing for an output value of 1.36 billion yuan, up 5.6 percent and 3 percent year-on-year respectively. Of these, 20,400 tons of agricultural products were exported, with the export volume reaching $103.5 million, with the numbers up 4.15 percent and 13.16 percent respectively from last year. 

Furthermore, the area combined agriculture and leisure tourism to invigorate the tertiary industry, taking advantage of ecological resources to create a number of rural tourism projects. It has attracted more than 5.4 million tourists, with total revenue of 4.46 billion yuan as of this October, up 8.9 percent and 15.9 percent respectively year-on-year.
