A series of rural experience activities held as part of the 29th Dalian Acacia Flower Festival began May 28 at a Lushunkou scenic area on the dividing line between the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea in Dalian, Liaoning province.
The festival, which ran from May 26 to 31, opened a botanical garden, a butterfly garden and several flower fields for public sightseeing. Visitors were also able to pick strawberries, sample rural dishes and local specialties, and enjoy the blooming acacia flowers.
An annual event held for the last 28 years, the Dalian Acacia Flower Festival has grown into an international tourism event with significant influence, and is now a platform for economic and cultural exchange throughout Northeast Asia.
Lushunkou has used this opportunity to showcase its charms and promote coordinated development of its tourism and culture industries.
