The 10th Dalian (Lushun) International Cherry Festival concluded successfully on May 20. A total of 254,000 tourists visited the 203 Cherry Garden during the festival, more than 50 percent of whom coming from outside Dalian.

This year’s event combined cherry with transport, culture, charity and multi-media to give visitors an all-round experience.

Cherry-themed subway trains operated on subway lines 1, 2, 3 and 12 during the event, initiating passengers’ interests on cherry and promoting a green and low carbon lifestyle among people.

Commemorative subway tickets started selling on the first day of the festival. People with  coommemorative subway tickets can enjoy 5-yuan (79.3 cents) off when buying tickets to 203 Cherry Garden.

A series of cultural performances were staged alongside the festival, such as Kun Opera, tea arts, guzheng (Chinese zither) and a road show of Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

A charity auction of four-season photos of Lushunkou was also held at the cherry garden, raising money for the Special Education Center of Lushunkou.

The 30-day event was covered by more than 30 famous media through live television and online broadcasting and news reports.
