Military-civilian integration to develop Taiyanggou Culture Industrial Park

Updated: 2018-03-22

Liu Hong, president of Dalian University of Foreign Languages and a deputy to the 13th National People's Congress (NPC), proposed that Taiyanggou Culture Industrial Park in Lushunkou district of Dalian, Liaoning province, should promote its development through military-civilian integration.

The park is one of the nationwide special towns that boast the most number of historical sites. It is a provincial-level culture industrial zone, with 353 Russian and Japanese buildings, most of which are military properties.

“The old buildings are valuable resources for the development of the culture industry in Dalian,” said Liu.

She suggested that the park should be included in the national list of military-civilian integration innovative zones.

“The local government can work with the military in protection, restoration and development of the buildings,” she said.

“The military can fully use its advantages in talents and resource to help develop innovative cultural projects and conduct historical and architectural research,” she added.
