More than 100 cheery trees in farmer Li Xiuchun’ s greenhouses have come into full blossom. The harvest is scheduled in early April, and is expected to bring in at least 60,000 yuan ($9,456).
In recent years, Lushunkou in Dalian, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, has been promoting the supply-side structural reform in agriculture, with the aim of creating more profits for farmers.
The greenhouse planting as a key part of industrial transformation has greatly satisfied market demand and improved farmers’ income.
The planting area of greenhouse vegetables reached 400 hectares this winter with total output surpassing 9,000 tons in January and February.
More than 5,000 kilograms of greenhouse strawberries has entered the market since Jan 1. The harvest period will last until the end of May.
Greenhouse flowers cover an area of 100,000 square meters. More than a million pots are expected to be sold, expecting to bring in more than 10 million yuan.
