(chinadaiy.com.cn) Updated: 2016-12-26
The Naval Port Park is located in the world-renowned natural harbor, the Lushun naval port. It is home to the large "Lushunkou" stone monument, the large bronze sculpture “Waking Lion” with its head up and full of energy, and the Discovery Museum that records Lushun's centenary history. The stone breakwater across the park was built in 1890 by Li Hongzhang. It is part of the port facilities of the naval base of the Beiyang Fleet. After one hundred years, the breakwater is still solid and sturdy. Inside the Naval Port Park, visitors can see the port as well as surface warships and submarines of the Chinese Navy.
