Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province has rolled out a series of measures to promote local culture and tourism industries during the Spring Festival holiday, which ended on Jan 27 this year.
The city received nearly 3.8 million tourists, up 21.02 percent year-on-year, and generated more than 4.7 billion yuan ($693.90 million) in tourism revenue, a year-on-year increase of 23.48 percent, during the holiday.
The most well-received measure saw 47 tourist attractions in the city open for free to the public until the end of March. These attractions held a variety of activities to celebrate the traditional Chinese festival.
