The Grand Union of Innovation (GUi), an innovation hub in Hefei, capital city of East China's Anhui province, attended the HICOOL Global Entrepreneurs Summit in Beijing on Oct 16. They brought together eight high-tech companies to highlight their cutting-edge developments in the low-altitude economy, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, AI big data, and life sciences.
The event showcased Hefei's innovation achievements and reflected GUi's proactive role in aligning with national strategies, connecting with the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei innovation hub, and fostering an open, collaborative ecosystem.

One of the highlighted innovations was the geomagnetic quantum magnetometer independently developed by Hefei Moce Technology, a leading solution with broad applications in resource exploration, geological surveying, industrial inspection, medical diagnostics, and fundamental research.
"GUi serves as a bridge, linking us more closely with larger markets and resources," said Xie Shangzhen, the company's deputy general manager.
Another highlight was the "smart flying motorcycle", an ultralight low-altitude aircraft designed for leisure flights and extreme sports, introduced by THU-Lion Aviation. This company was founded on the technological success of a smart flying car project at Tsinghua University.
Anhui Bingqi Life Technology, specializing in low-temperature biological sample storage technology, was founded by Professor Zhao Gang's team from the University of Science and Technology of China. The company has developed a high-efficiency, low-toxicity biomimetic cryoprotectant, enabling safer and more reliable preservation for cell therapy, regenerative medicine, and germplasm resource protection.
GUi's participation in the event not only showcased "hard technology" but also emphasized "soft power" — its innovation ecosystem of openness, collaboration, and sharing.
As a key platform for global innovation resources, the HICOOL Global Entrepreneurs Summit drew top talent, capital, policymakers, and market channels.
By participating in the event, GUi aims to establish a "Hefei-Beijing" expressway, promoting cross-regional technology transfer, two-way talent flow, and targeted industry-capital alignment.
GUi continues to optimize its innovation ecosystem. Over the past three years, it has attracted more than 2,500 high-tech enterprises, including around 50 percent of Hefei's bio-manufacturing and aerospace information firms and about 45 percent of its AI enterprises, fostering regional collaboration and high-quality growth.
