GUi launches Technology Manager Research Center

In September, the Grand Union of Innovation (GUi) jointly established the Technology Manager Research Center with Hefei University of Technology in East China's Anhui province, marking another milestone in Anhui's efforts to accelerate the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.

The initiative seeks to close the gap between laboratories and industry while fostering a thriving innovation ecosystem.

The task force on achievement commercialization of Hefei municipal science and technology bureau holds regular meetings, designed to remove institutional barriers in the early stage of technology commercialization for GUi.
The cross-departmental task force brings together resources from government, academia, and industry to provide systematic policy and operational support.

With Hefei's coordinated mechanism backing it, GUi offers structured pathways and resources to translate research outcomes into practical applications. The proof-of-concept (PoC) system has made steady progress, with nearly 70 projects collected into GUi's PoC database.

The program has rapidly expanded its presence across the country. During a visit to Xi'an Jiaotong University's Innovation Port, GUi signed the first group of "campus technology managers" in northwest China, with the network soon extending to Harbin.

These managers — serving as technology translators, business architects, and connectors —will accompany innovations through the entire commercialization process.

Seventeen technology managers have now joined, creating a professional network that connects universities, enterprises, and service organizations.

As a veteran expert in scientific research management, Xie Honghua said that the platform's strength lies in its collaboration and professional specialization.

Several hard-tech companies, including Luxet Infrared Technology, known for its advanced infrared measurement systems, have already benefited from this mechanism. They have achieved breakthroughs that range from laboratory research to industrial applications.

Through fostering trust, professionalism, and lasting partnerships, GUi is creating a durable link that connects scientific breakthroughs to industrial prominence.
