GUi nurtures innovation strength, enhances global connections

Since its establishment in 2022, the Grand Union of Innovation (GUi) has become home to over 2,500 tech companies, attracted more than 2,500 high-level talents, and amassed equity investment funds totaling over 250 billion yuan ($34.8 billion).

These achievements result from collaboration between the market and a proactive government, a smooth path for the commercialization of scientific and technological advancements, innovation in industrial development models, and the optimization of diverse capital and innovation ecosystems.

Based in Hefei, GUi serves as a platform to advance the aggregation, allocation, and integration of global innovation resources across broader fields, on a larger scale, and at higher levels.

By tapping into a global alumni network of universities and partners worldwide, GUi connects high-end innovation resources with committed patient capital, empowering the rise of the sci-tech industry in Hefei and Anhui.

GUi has partnered with over 600 global alumni organizations from prestigious universities like Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, establishing an inclusive alumni resource connection and service mechanism.

Senior Engineer Mei Lingliang, who once started business in the Pearl River Delta, will start a headquarters in GUi around the water-guided laser processing technology. This project was recommended by Professor Zhang Wenwu, the president of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) Ningbo Alumni Association

It recruits innovation partners globally to foster a collaborative innovation ecosystem through strategic synergy.

In 2023, Plug and Play China, a platform originating from Silicon Valley with over 20 years of experience in scientific and technological services and over 60 international innovation centers, became one of the first global partners of the GUi.

Data shows that the GUi has now recruited over 100 global partner institutions, establishing innovation centers in 13 cities worldwide to connect academic and institutional resources.

Technological innovation is an endless marathon that requires tremendous endurance in industrialization. As one of GUi's sub-fund partners, Hefei High-tech Venture Investment Management Partnership Company advocates supporting emerging tech companies with patient capital, supplemented by policy support from GUi to provide substantial equity empowerment for tech projects.
