The USTC Alumni Forum on Development of Embodied Intelligence Industry was held recently at the Grand Union of Innovation (GUi), a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in Hefei, aiming to explore new opportunities in the integration of artificial intelligence and robotics.
Industry leaders were invited to share their insights at the forum, which was attended by over 100 alumni and current students and faculty members of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).
The forum marks another significant initiative by GUi to boost technological innovation and pool alumni resources. It not only provides a way for students and faculty members of the university to learn about the frontiers of the industry, but also serves as a platform for companies to recruit talent and foster technological collaborations.
During the forum, Xu Siqing, founding partner and CEO of Alpha Startups, pointed out that embodied intelligence stands at a crucial moment for a key breakthrough in the deep integration of AI and the real economy. He emphasized that USTC students should utilize their solid strength in mathematics and physics to actively engage in this field full of opportunities.
Dai Ruoli, founder and CEO of Noitom, shared the insights he gained from his company's transition from motion capture to robot data services, systematically analyzing the commercial value and future prospects of the robot data market.
Zhang Wei, founder of LimX Dynamics, delved into the technical challenges and business hurdles. He likened the current stage of the industry to the "Wright Brothers moment", emphasizing the importance of product details and engineering capabilities.
Chen Kai, director of the Embodied Intelligence Department at the Zhongguancun AI Institute of Zhongguancun Academy in Beijing, highlighted the rich scientific research, innovation and business opportunities in the field of embodied intelligence.
A round-table discussion session was held, with several participants expressing their intention to establish research and development institutions in GUi.
