Updated: April 29, 2025

The Haike Commerce Roundtable convened in Hefei, Anhui province on April 18, spotlighting multinational corporations and global sci-tech industries. Hosted by the Anhui Provincial Department of Commerce and the Global Technology Innovation Alliance (GTIA), and organized by the Business School of Sci-tech of University of Science and Technology of China and the GUiTEK Service Platform, the event invited companies from the United States, France, and the United Kingdom, alongside pioneering tech firms such as Deep Robotics and XtalPi Holdings Limited.

At the forum, officials of Anhui showcased the province's rich sci-tech resources, robust industrial foundations, high-efficiency open platforms, and a business-friendly environment. Executives from global firms including Veolia, Mettler Toledo, Fluor Corporation, and Cushman & Wakefield delivered addresses and exchanged insights.

Anhui stands out with over 125 universities and is home to 23 key national-level laboratories from microscale material to deep space. It hosts world-class research facilities like Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST). The province is the place where breakthroughs, including the Micius Satellite for Quantum Science Experiments and quantum microscope, originated, underlining its global scientific footprint.

Tang Liang, President of Mettler Toledo China, said, "Anhui has a distinctive innovation model. It leverages strong fundamental research and national-level facilities while precisely matching industries and investments. With leading enterprises driving sci-tech applications, the province achieves high coordination across the value chain."

"In Hefei, a new wave of innovation is rising, centered on its National Comprehensive Science Center, the National Technology Innovation Center, and GUi," Tang added. "Anhui's 'Center-GUi synergy' aligns deeply with the global strategy of multinational corporations. Its integrated model allows companies to access application scenarios earlier and unlock new opportunities faster.”

"Hefei is a city with exceptional innovation capacity, a favorable business climate, and fertile ground for scientific and technological advancement," said Yuan Li, chairman of the GITA. He added that Anhui, especially Hefei, has taken a unique path in sci-tech investment, producing success stories like BOE Technology. Yuan emphasized that the Business School of Sci-tech of USTC and the GUi represent Anhui's high-level innovation energy. "Such institutions offer strong industrial synergy and broad access to productive service resources, enabling cross-industry innovation and empowering the entire value chain."

GUi, at the heart of this innovation ecosystem, exemplifies the province's capability to transform cutting-edge research into real-world applications. As a leading sci-tech hub, it connects academia and enterprise, fostering industrial collaboration and fast-paced commercialization.
