A magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck Feidong county, Hefei, Anhui, on Sept 18, at a depth of 12 kilometers. In response, the technical team from Smart Sensing ZD-DAS, a company of the Grand Union of Innovation (GUi), swiftly collaborated with the administration to provide emergency services and maintain monitoring equipment at the epicenter.

Utilizing their innovative distributed fiber-optic seismometer, ZD-DAS, the team has recorded over 40 aftershocks since the initial quake. The response came on the heels of a magnitude 3.9 earthquake four days earlier on Sept 14, which prompted the establishment of emergency monitoring protocols.
Despite nighttime conditions and the complex terrain, the company's team managed to deploy aftershock monitoring devices, capturing critical data for ongoing analysis and risk assessment.
The company is continuously dedicated to upgrading its technology and enhancing data extraction and analysis methods, aiming to expand the use of fiber-optic sensing in seismic monitoring.

Earlier this year, during the rainy season, the company also conducted surveys along the canal, further demonstrating its technical capability.
