GUi enterprises apply tech to empower flood control

Updated: June 12, 2024

Enterprises of Grand Union of Innovation (GUi), including Zhidi Ganzhi and Bafang Didong, have stepped up in the face of rainstorms in monsoon season, leveraging advanced technology to aid in flood prevention efforts.

Both companies recently conducted on-site surveys at the Baishitian Lake in Tongda town, Lujiang county. Utilizing fiber optic seismographs, smart seismographs, and geological radars, they meticulously monitored a key 300-meter stretch of the dike to ensure its safety.

Zhidi Ganzhi, a high-tech enterprise born from the University of Science and Technology of China's first batch of empowerment reform pilots, specializes in advanced distributed fiber optic sensing equipment and geophysical applications. Their technology finds applications across various fields, from scientific research to industrial production and everyday life.

Bafang Didong, comprising academicians, scientists and overseas returnees, employs high-precision broadband seismographs to record micro-seismic data. By integrating geophysics and artificial intelligence, they can accurately identify signal source characteristics and changes in transmission media.
