GUI innovation hub wraps up equity training program

The Grand Union of Innovation or GUI, an innovation service platform based in Hefei – capital of East China's Anhui province – concluded a two-day training program on sci-tech innovation equity on Sep 10.

The event was part of its wider efforts to help resident enterprises along the growth path and to improve its overall business environment.

The training program targeted the problems of a shortage of talented people, a lack of funding, as well as market opportunities for companies – providing free training courses for entrepreneurs.

Top investors, business leaders and representatives from regulatory agencies were invited to give lectures – helping companies refine their strategies, seek capital and develop exchanges within their industry.

After a rigorous selection process, 36 companies were chosen to participate in the training, which focused on the theme of "equity strategy for the development of science and technology enterprises".

It featured lectures by experts, top investors and successful entrepreneurs from both local and international markets.

Zhou Dengming, vice-president of the GUI, said that the highlights of the training program were its philanthropic nature, customized design and practical operation.

"More than 130 companies signed up to take part in the training. We selected 36 high-quality companies as official participants and allowed several others to join us as observers.

"We aim to provide more companies with the services of the GUI," Zhou said.

The program involved hands-on training, project roadshows, mentor explanations, project analyses and individual assessments centered around the topic of "equity financing".
