The 4th Asian Para Games were successfully held in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province from Oct 22 to 28, 2023. Chinese Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang attended the opening ceremony and declared the para games open. State Councilor Shen Yiqin attended both the opening and closing ceremonies.
More than 3,000 athletes from 44 countries and regions in Asia participated in the4th Asian Para Games, which featuring 22 sports and 501 events.
The Chinese sports delegation, consisting of 439 athletes, competed in all events and achieved outstanding results, securing a total of 521 medals, including 214 gold, 167 silver, and 140 bronze.
The delegation set 13 world records and 35 Asian records during the competition, showcasing their exceptional athletic prowess.
This remarkable performance not only placed China at the top of the medal tally at the 4th Para Games but also marked the best historical achievement for the Chinese delegation since China participating in the event.
