People of disability who are in poverty, prone to return to poverty, or faced with sudden serious difficulties have been included in monitoring and assistance programs, so that large-scale return to poverty among them is prevented.

In 2023, 10.28 million persons with disabilities received minimum living allowances, 11.82 million economically challenged persons with disabilities received living subsidies, 15.73 million severely disabled persons received nursing subsidies, and the basic rehabilitation service coverage remained at over 85 percent.

Additionally, 468,000 children with disabilities received rehabilitation assistance, the enrollment rate of school-age disabled children in compulsory education steadily increased, 30,813 disabled students were admitted to colleges and universities, and 544,000 new employment opportunities were created for people of disability in urban and rural areas.

On June 7, 2023, the National College Entrance Examination commenced. Throughout the country, various measures, such as printing large-font or Braille exam papers, guidance by specialized personnel, assistive devices, and setting up barrier-free passages, were taken to provide greater convenience for nearly 10,000 disabled candidates. The increased "reasonable convenience" services during the college entrance examination, along with the improvement of supportive policies, have helped more disabled candidates realize their dreams.
