On Aug 7, Zhang Haidi, chairwoman of the China Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF), conducts a survey on grassroots organizational development of disabled persons' federations and disability rehabilitation work in Ningxia Hui autonomous region.
During her visit, she visited and extended regards to people with disabilities, staff working for the disabled, rehabilitation professionals, and medical personnel.
At the "Disabled Persons' Home" in Tongfu Jiayuan Community in Yinchuan, Zhang talked with disabled persons and inquired in detail about their rehabilitation progress and daily lives. She also learned about the implementation of daytime care programs.
Zhang emphasized that disabled persons' federations at all levels should prioritize the well-being of people with disabilities, and serve as a connection between the Party, government, and the people. Disabled persons' federations at grassroots level should make further efforts to improve local Disabled Persons' Homes.
During her visit to a local Beautiful Workshop, Zhang took a keen interest in the process of crafting handicrafts. She expressed the hope of establishing the "Beautiful Workshop" brand to create more employment opportunities for women with disabilities. Zhang emphasized the importance of assisting disabled women in enhancing their job skills, improving their ability to generate income, and fostering their self-development capabilities, ultimately allowing them to fulfill their dreams through labor.
At the Ningxia Disability Rehabilitation Center, Zhang learned about the implementation of various service projects, including spinal cord injury rehabilitation, corrective surgery assistance for limb disabilities, and life rebuilding training for the visually impaired. While visiting and gaining detailed insights into the rehabilitation training for disabled children and teenagers, she encouraged these children to have confidence and recover quickly.
Zhang Haidi stressed the need to integrate medical, rehabilitation, and educational efforts. She expressed her belief that modern scientific technology will undoubtedly contribute to better rehabilitation for disabled children.
She also urged disability workers to serve people with disabilities wholeheartedly while continuously learning professional knowledge and understanding the challenges faced by people with disabilities. She underlined the importance of listening to the opinions and suggestions of people with disabilities, striving for ongoing improvements and innovations, and working diligently to promote high-quality development in disability services in the new era.
