Wang Meimei, vice-president of the Executive Board of the China Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF), met with Takashima Yoshiko, envoy of the Embassy of Japan in China on July 9 at the CDPF headquarters in Beijing.
Wang gave a brief on the preparation work made by the Chinese Paralympic delegation for the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, as well as on the 2022 Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing. She said that China is willing to strengthen communications and cooperation with Japan on disability affairs, the fight against COVID-19 and further promote mutual development on the disability cause. China welcomed Japan to join the 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympic Games and is looking forward to the excellent performances from the athletes of both countries at the Tokyo Paralympic Games and the Beijing Winter Paralympic Games, she added.
Takashima briefed Wang on the preparations Tokyo has made for hosting the 2020 Paralympic Games and welcomed the participation of the Chinese delegation. She gave her assurances that the Tokyo Games Organizing Committee will provide their utmost support to the Chinese delegation in terms of epidemic prevention and control.
